Privacy Policy
How CentPol collects, uses, and protects your personal information — including data from “Sign in with LinkedIn”.
Last updated: 13 June 2026
Who we are
CentPol (“we”, “us”) runs research, training, and community programs at the intersection of artificial intelligence and public-interest policy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Sign in with LinkedIn. If you join with LinkedIn, LinkedIn shares — with your consent — your name, email address, and profile picture (the OpenID Connect
openid, profile, andemailscopes). We do not receive your LinkedIn password. - Joining by email. If you join with the form, we collect the name, email address, and any optional role or LinkedIn URL you provide.
- Profile details. Anything you add on “Complete your profile” — role, organization, country, and focus areas — all optional.
- Forms & inquiries. Information you submit through program, partnership, or contact forms.
- Usage data. Limited, privacy-respecting analytics about how pages are used, to improve the site.
How we use it
- To create and manage your community membership and member badge.
- To connect you with community spaces (such as LinkedIn and WhatsApp groups) and relevant programs.
- To send you membership and program communications you can opt out of at any time.
- To operate, secure, and improve the website.
Cookies
We set a small, signed session cookie after you join so we can recognize you for features like “Complete your profile,” and a short-lived cookie during the LinkedIn sign-in round-trip to protect against cross-site request forgery. These are essential to the features you use and are not sold or used for cross-site advertising.
Service providers
We share data only with providers that help us run the service: LinkedIn (authentication), Resend (email delivery), Vercel (hosting), Neon (database), and Cloudflare (media storage and delivery). They process data on our behalf under their own terms and security commitments.
Data retention
We keep membership information for as long as you remain a member. You can ask us to unsubscribe you or delete your information at any time, and we will do so unless we are required to retain it for legal or operational reasons.
Your choices
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and you can withdraw consent or unsubscribe at any time. To make a request, email us at privacy@centpol.com.
Changes
We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
