Course lesson · Lesson 2
The Mindshift and Security Environments
Shift from chat-tool habits to runtime thinking, and set the trust, credential, and execution boundaries before an agent touches your environment.
What you'll take away
- Reframe an agent from a chat tool to a runtime, naming the memory, tool, and execution surfaces it introduces.
- Map any agent deployment onto the four control layers — environment, filesystem, tool/credential, and action authority.
- Set at least one explicit approval boundary for consequential actions before granting an agent access.
- Draft an environment charter that states, in writing, what the agent is explicitly not allowed to do.
